HPMI E-NEWS
January 2017 - Transformational Wellness

Are you getting white-glove service from your health and wellness partner? At HPMI, we "sweat the small stuff" to make sure your program engages employees for lasting change.

In this issue of HPMI e-News, you'll learn about proven trends in modern wellbeing programs, HPMI's exciting new program, Transformational Wellness, which responds to those trends, a spotlight on one of our newest challenges, and you'll get to meet our new Director of Customer Experience, Dana Cernak.  Dana has been running our health screenings with enthusiasm and precision since 2007, and now she will be a part of all of our engagements to make sure you get the white-glove service you deserve.

With today's multi-generational workforce, well-being initiatives need to take a diverse approach to ensure engagement across the organization. Personalizing an individual's experience is critical to motivating lasting behavioral change. This is why HPMI has been successful for over 30 years. Our high-touch approach engages employees with diverse interests and activity levels, so they continue to build on healthy habits and become the best version of themselves every day.

Transformational Wellness is our new, year-long customized program designed to make healthy living attainable, fun, and enduring. Each quarter we provide a turnkey campaign toolkit around a focused well-being theme (Drive, Move, Nourish, and Balance) that integrates:

  • Personal goal setting methods
  • Easily adoptable habits and activities for work, home, and the road
  • Group challenges for peer encouragement
  • Scientifically based habit-building techniques
Through a combination of fresh new challenges, workshops, events, and nutrition and activity opportunities, our holistic programs appeal to the broader scope of your employee base to get--and keep--everybody involved!

Dana Cernak, Director of Customer Experience

At HPMI, I’m able to bring together my passion for health and fitness with the joy of interacting with people from all walks of life. I have more than 30 years of experience promoting customer success, and my favorite place to be is onsite with clients, strategizing on and delivering fresh programs, events, and activities that stimulate the greater good of the organization and the individuals in it.

My practical experience as an exercise physiologist, lab technician, and exercise research assistant at Stanford University’s heart disease prevention center informs my work at HPMI and helps me design customized programs that engage each company’s unique population while addressing primary areas of concern.

Whether I am organizing onsite health screenings, running program meetings, or managing event logistics, I believe that quality is in the details. HPMI clients count on me to show up prepared so that each time we meet it is a positive and memorable customer experience, and I pride myself on not letting them down!

I also like to be as busy in my personal life as my professional. I live on a very small farm with dogs, cats, horses, chickens and ducks. I actively train and race endurance horses, competing throughout the spring, summer and fall on 50-100 mile races. I also manage my own race for over 100 riders annually.  My amazing family and I enjoy spending time together camping, biking, running, playing beach volleyball and just hanging out together.

2017 Challenge Spotlight: Be Mindful

Have you noticed that the demands of daily life are leaving you a little bit frazzled? Cell phones are chirping, emails are chiming, your mind is chattering, and deadlines are speeding towards you.
How do you get it all to just slow down?

HPMI's Mindfulness Challenge taught participants creative ways to be present, peaceful, and placid.

"Mindfulness has increased my ability to be calmer during stressful times. The program was the permission I needed to take good care of myself. Overall, mindfulness practices help me notice with a greater awareness, ease, or enjoyment and appreciation of the world."
